Aravind Jagannathan “Jag” for the past 5 years has been involved in VYS thru his twin’s, son and daughter, soccer activities. He has coached house for both girls and boys from U5 and has been an assistant coach for girls and boys travel teams (U9 and U10 respectively). He has been involved in the review and approval of the club’s recent updated travel policies and participated in providing feedback to NCSAA board consultant to help further develop VYS.
Jag is currently a Vice President at Freddie Mac. His current role is leading the company’s integration to a new Joint Venture that has been created to meet the needs of the present and future mortgage market. Initiative is the single largest within Freddie Mac and has been highlighted in every congressional reform bill of the enterprises (Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae) as critical for future housing reform. The role requires managing a business plan including budget and the ability to work across levels (CEO to mid-level) at both firms and government to ensure strategic goals are met. Prior to his joining Freddie Mac, he was Head of Treasury Operations at the World Bank and has also worked at management levels at ING Barings and JPM Chase within each of these firm’s capital markets and Treasury Divisions.
I believe in the strength of VYS and of the overall Vienna community and want to provide the best opportunities for our children. I have seen the benefits of VYS first hand of not only in the development of soccer skills for my son/daughter but more importantly in the valuable life lessons my children have gleaned the past 5 years. As at an-large member of the board for Finance, my primary goal will be to review financial policies, budget and VYS contracts to ensure our children receive the full value of the money spent by Vienna families. In addition, I also hold the view every family expects the value earned must be equal to and hopefully greater than their contribution to VYS. That clearly has been the case for my family and hope to continue that for current and future members of VYS.
My professional background in leading large programs and/or running divisions at financial institutions allows me to bring pertinent experiences that will help the board and the overall VYS community in accomplishing the various goals and activities for the upcoming year. It is my desire to continue to help VYS and our children and if elected as at-large member am confident in accomplishing this outcome.
