Vienna is a wonderful community and is fortunate to have so many parents actively involved in the club. I have learned and been amazed at the number of volunteers and their dedication to help run many of the programs offered. Unlike some other soccer clubs that focus on one or two elite teams across all age groups, the VYS commitment to the development of each and every player should be applauded and embraced. Yes, our goal is to develop strong, talented soccer players that compete at the highest levels, but it is the larger life lessons and enduring friendships that are truly valuable. Soccer has helped teach me the importance of hard work, dedication and teamwork, while fostering a competitive spirit, each of which has had a positive impact on my life.
Having served on the board , travel committee and being involved coaching three teams this past year I have unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing VYS at this time and am invested in being part of the solution. The board has made two impressive and significant hires this year in our new Executive Director and Technical Director. I look forward to supporting them as they lead VYS into a new successful chapter. Thank you for your consideration.
