Who is eligible for House Soccer?
Any child born between 8/1/94 and 7/31/09 is eligible to participate in the VYS House Soccer program (see birth date guidelines) regardless of ability.
How can I register to play?
Click here to register online for House Soccer. All players who register on time for the fall and/or spring season are guaranteed placement on a team in their appropriate age group. Late registrations (new and returning players) will be placed on a waiting list and placed on teams where space is available or pending the identification of new coaches and the formation of new teams.
Fall season registration begins in mid-June, and Spring season registration begins in mid-December.
How are teams formed?
House Commissioners form teams, based on the number of volunteer coaches and assistant coaches. There are no “school” teams and as a general rule, no more than four children from a single school play on one team in order to promote friendship and sportsmanship among players of different schools.
How many practices a week will my child have to attend?
Number of practices per week depend on the child’s age and team division. Get more information about Divisions.
When does the season start?
In general, the Fall season starts mid-September and ends mid-November. The Spring season starts late March and ends mid-June.
How do I become a coach?
If you are a parent interested in coaching your child’s team, it’s a simple as clicking the volunteer link at the time you register your child.
If you are not a parent of a registered child and would like to coach, please click here to access our volunteer form.
How and when do I find out what team my child is on?
Your child’s coach will contact you one to two weeks prior to the start of the playing season. If you have not been contacted within that timeframe, please contact the House Commissioner for your child’s age group or the VYS Admin.
Who do I contact for registration or administrative issues?
Contact the VYS Registar for registration issues, or the VYS Administrator for administrative questions.
