VYS Code of Conduct

Click here to read the VYS Code of Conduct

Vienna Youth Soccer (VYS) expects and requires all members, players, officials, employees, suppliers, contractors, spectators, and others participating in VYS activities to behave responsibly, courteously, and respectfully at all times.

VYS is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing the greater Vienna community with a wide range of opportunities to learn about and play soccer, and have fun. In cooperation with the Fairfax County Parks Authority, Fairfax County Schools, and others, VYS provides a safe and supportive environment to learn sportsmanship and teamwork by playing soccer. These objectives cannot be met unless all of those involved adhere to the highest level of conduct. Poor sportsmanship, and disrespectful or irresponsible behavior will not be tolerated at any time.

The VYS Code of Conduct is intended to help everyone be aware of the types of behavior that are expected. They do not necessarily address all situations. Everyone must exercise sound judgment in deciding how to handle different situations.

Confused by what ’off side’ means.  Not sure what the "Laws of the Game" are.  Do you wish you knew more about the game called, "Soccer"?
Read "A Soccer Guide for Parents."  It includes an explanation of the 17 laws of soccer, and a glossary of soccer terms.  There is a very informative section on the term, "off side."
VYS thanks the Florence Soccer Association for their permission to use this document, and make changes that are pertinent to Vienna Youth Soccer.
