Referee Engagement Letter
Spring 2010 Season

April 6, 2010

Re: 2010 VYS Season

Dear VYS Referee:

As you know, referees engaged by Vienna Youth Soccer, Inc. (VYS) are independent contractors and not employees of VYS, and are therefore responsible for their own tax reporting and payments.  Under certain circumstances, VYS is required to provide you with an IRS Form 1099 covering all amounts paid to you by VYS, and to provide copies of that 1099 to the relevant taxing authorities. In order to ensure compliance with VYS’s legal obligations, you will be required to bring a completed IRS Form W-9 with you to signup on April 8, 2010. A blank copy of IRS Form W-9 is provided for your convenience.

As a final reminder, your conduct and performance are governed by the VYS Laws of the Game and VYS referee Guidelines, which can be found on the VYS website at www.vys.org, under the “Referees” link.

We’re looking forward to a great season. Thanks for being a part of VYS.

Sincerely,

William Tesch
VYS Treasurer

Dianne Gurdak
