ON-LINE REGISTRATION: For “returning” players, VYS offers on-line registration (with a credit card) for the Spring 2012 season. “First-time” registrants may also register on-line; however, you are required to mail in the registration fee, along with a copy of your player’s birth certificate for proof of age.

MAIL-IN REGISTRATION: Registration forms may be downloaded from our website. Forms must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Unsigned forms, forms bearing incomplete information or accompanied by incorrect fees, will be returned and must be sent back to VYS by Feb. 24 to avoid a late fee. We cannot properly place your child if information is excluded or incorrect. Make checks payable to Vienna Youth Soccer.

WALK-IN REGISTRATION: Walk-in registrations will be held on the following dates: Saturday, Jan. 21 and Feb. 11, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thoreau Middle School, 2505 Cedar Lane, Vienna, VA. Note: If this is your first registration with VYS, our volunteers will need to see a copy of your player’s birth certificate to verify his/her date of birth.

PARENT LEAGUE REGISTRATION: To be eligible to register, a player must turn age 30 on or before August 1, preceding the season of play, and be affiliated with VYS, either by having a child registered in a youth program, or by volunteering to help operate the club, which is run primarily by the parents of its youth membership. Registration fee is $75 and is included in the multi-family discount.

VYS also provides the Parent League with liability insurance through US Club Soccer. As a requirement, VYS must submit a signed copy of the US Club Soccer “Adult Player Registration and Waiver” form for each player. This is a one-time requirement. If you have previously submitted this form, you need not do it again. If you need to submit one, the form is downloadable from our website. It can be emailed to theRegistrar at registrar@vys.org, or mailed to: VYS, P.O. Box 993, Vienna, VA 22183. All players will be waitlisted and will not be assigned to a team until the Registrar confirms you have a form on file.

NON-VOLUNTEER FEE: Please sign up to volunteer when registering to help make VYS a successful organization. Non-volunteers will incur an additional fee of $30.

VYS UNIFORM FEE: “New” players, in divisions U13 and above and registering for the House League, are required to purchase a VYS uniform kit. The cost of the uniform kit is $25 and includes: 2 jerseys (one red, one white). Please designate quantity and size in the appropriate section when completing your on-line registration. The uniform fee will be added to your total registration fee. (Note: You do not have to purchase a uniform kit if you have one from a prior season.)

PROOF OF AGE REQUIREMENT: First-time registrants are required to provide proof of age documentation. A copy of a birth certificate or other official document, such as a passport, must be received by the VYS Registrar within five (5) business days from the date of your on-line registration. Lack of proof of age can be grounds for non-placement on a team.

GRADE LEVEL EXCEPTION (GLE): VYS policy allows players in the U5 to U12 House League Age Divisions, with birthdates that fall between August 1^st and September 30^th, and who are in school in the next higher grade, to play up one age division so that they can play with friends in their grade school class. A player must meet both conditions to be eligible for the Grade Level Exception.

NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO PLAY UP INTO THE U5 DIVISION, AS PER EXISTING POLICY -- NO EXCEPTIONS.

The on-line registration form provides players with August or September birthdays an option to register by "birth year", or by "grade" level. Registering by "grade" indicates you are requesting a Grade Level Exception and that you want your child to play up with his or her grade school class. If you select to register by "grade", you must send an email to registrar@vys.org, indicating you have requested a Grade Level Exception. This request must be submitted each season.

FINANCIAL AID REQUEST: Families requesting financial aid may register on-line, but must submit a Financial Aid application (along with a copy of the registration form) to the VYS Registrar. The downloadable form can be found by clicking on “Financial Aid” under the Registration section. Please attach the Financial Aid form to the player’s registration form and mail it to VYS, P.O. Box 993, Vienna, VA 22183, or you may bring it to one of the “walk-in” registrations listed on our website. A separate form must be completed and submitted for each player each season. Applicants may be asked to provide documentation to substantiate their financial aid applications. All players are asked to pay state and county fees. These fees are currently $14.50 for House players and $18.50 for Travel players. This fee should be sent with the financial aid application. Applications are due no later than May 1 for Spring Season or September 15 for Fall Season. Decisions will be communicated within 3 weeks.

REFUND POLICY: Refunds may be requested by contacting the Registrar at registrar@vys.org. A $30 administrative fee per player is subtracted from all refunds. No refunds will be made after the first game of the season (April 14). Do not ask your coach or commissioner for a refund. If you do not request a refund during the current season for which you paid the VYS fees, you may not ask for a refund later or for the fee to be applied to any subsequent seasons.

SEASON CALENDAR: All House League regular-season games will begin on Saturday, April 14, with additional games on April 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26, and June 2 - weather permitting. Travel League (NCSL, ODSL, WAGS, SFL) regular-season games begin March 31st.

TRAVEL PLAYER PROHIBITION: Travel players are prohibited from participating in the VYS Recreational Program, the High School Girls Soccer League, and the High School Boys Soccer League.

If you registered a player for a training program in the spring, please select the option, “I want to register a returning player”.

WINTER ACADEMY:

Vienna Youth Soccer is excited to offer Winter Foot Skills & Futsal Program for the House Players. Our program has been designed to focus specifically on enhancing fundamental player’s skill and confidence in decision-making under pressure. The game itself forces ball mastery of the soccer technique (dribbling, passing, receiving, 1 vs. 1 and shooting) in tight space, quick decision-making with and without the ball. Futsal is the future of indoor soccer in the United States for player development and VYS would like to invite you to join us for a fun Futsal experience this 2012 Winter season.

Registration FEE: $60

Limited space, you must pre-register, but for one session only. Only players registered to play with Vienna Youth Soccer for the preceding fall 2011 season are eligible to sign up for the Winter 2012 training programs.

Refund Policy: A $10 administrative fee will be subtracted from all refunds. No refund will be issued unless request is received at least seven days prior to the start of your assigned session (Jan 1st for Session 1 or Feb 12th for Session 2).
