Patriots Silver, Patriots White and FC Black Dogs Receive the ODSL Randy Rawls Sportsmanship Award

The Patriots White (ODSL U10 Girls Div 1), Patriots Silver (ODSL U10 Girls Div 2) and FC Black Dogs (ODSL U10 Boys Div 2) each received the Randy Rawls Sportsmanship Award, given to the team in each age group that exhibits the best sportsmanship. In addition to the coaches votes, sportsmanship points are averaged from each referee report card.  Also, points are subtracted for yellow and red cards accumulated during the season. The prestigious award is named after Randy Rawls, one of the leagues original founders and its first President.  The award honors the winner’s sense of fair play, something for which Randy was renowned as he sought to bring soccer opportunities to the youth of Northern Virginia. Congratulations to all three VYS teams.
