U19 GIRLS FUSION RED High School
2014 - 2015

Fusion Red offer a special travel team experience, allowing talented younger players to participate in high level soccer with more experienced players.   The team promotes high standards of sportsmanship and a healthy and safe playing environment. The primary goal of the coaching team is to help develop the players to better understand the game of soccer, improve individual technical skills, learn tactics and strategies, and work as a team on the field.   Special focus is on helping the players take the next step in becoming more advanced and more competitive in playing the game; while ensuring the enjoyment of the game.  All efforts and activities are conducted in a healthy team environment with emphasis on discipline and sportsmanship.

VYS Fusion Red, a U19 girls travel soccer team, competes in the Washington Area Girls Soccer legue (WAGSL).  

The team is coached by Hadi Rezazad and assistant coach Orest Fedak. 

Coach Hadi has been involved with soccer for over 35 years, both as a player and a coach.  He holds a National "B" License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), National Youth License from USSF, as well as National Goal Keepers Coaching License from National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)

Coach Hadi is also the head coach of the VYS Eagles Red, a U14 boys travel team competing in National Capital Soccer League (NCSL), and he coaches TOPSoccer

Coach Hadi’s philosophy is that it is possible and important to maintain a balance between "development" and "competitiveness" for all players, while ensuring the enjoyment of the game. The team promotes high standards of sportsmanship and a healthy and safe playing environment.

VYS Fusion Red Girls: SASA Tournament Champions!!
Spring 2012

VYS Fusion Red U16 Girls Team finished as Champions at the Stafford County’s St. Patrick’s Day Tournament over the March 17-18 weekend, in the High School U16-U19 Division II. 

The Fusion Red ladies won all of their three matches against teams from Calvert County, McLean, and Fredericksburg, without giving up any goals, to qualify for the Championship Match.  They met a strong team from Boston in the Championship Match; where the Fusion ladies got off to an early 1-0 lead.  At the last minutes of the regulation, they finally gave up the first goal of the tournament to end the game in a tie. 

At the end of the overtime period, the game was still at 1-1.  Off to the Penalty Kicks, the Fusion players won the match by the score of 4-2 and claimed the Championship!! 

Fusion Red played in WAGS Division 5 last season, and has just been promoted to WAGS Division 4 for the Spring season.  The team was also awarded the WAGS Sportsmanship Award for the Fall season
