Founded in 2005, the Vienna Storm girls soccer team consists of players, coaches and families that are committed to player development, team chemistry and competition. The Storm competes in the Washington Area Girls Soccer league (WAGS) and routinely competes in local and away tournaments. In our short 4 year history, the Storm has won four tournaments and finished 2nd in three others.
The players come together from 6 different schools and enjoy eachothers friendship as much as they do playing soccer. The bonds developed through soccer are friendships that extend far beyond the field. Meet the Storm: Arianna, Bronwyn, Christy, CeCe, Jianna, Jillian, Lia, Lillian, Sammie, Stav, Maddie, Morgan, Noelle, Semira and Wittney.
The Storm is coached by Michael Skigen, a USSF "A" licensed coach and former VYSA coach of the year. Mike has coached both boys and girls travel soccer for over 15 years and has several players go on to play at the collegiate level in both Division I and Division III college programs.
The Storm hold open tryouts every June. Players and families who are interested in becoming part of a team that extends far beyond the playing field are encouraged to contact us. Our goals are simple, work hard, play smart and have fun. Pele said it best when he said, "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."
