The winter practice schedule is as follows:

Mondays: Both practice from 4:30-5:45 at Arrowbrook (outdoor) (2360 Centreville Rd, Herndon, Va 20171

Tuesdays: Black practice from 5:00-6:00 at Floris Elem School (2708 Centreville Road, Herndon, Va 20171)

Wednesdays: Gold practice from 5:00-6:00 at Terra Set Elem School (11411 Ridge Heights Rd, Reston, VA)

Thursdays: Both practice from 4:30-5:45 at Madison HS (outdoor) **

Fridays: Gold practice from 6:30-7:45 at Merritt *

Fridays: Black practice from 7:45-9:00 at Merritt *

*No sessions on Feb 10 and Feb 24

**We have indoor space available on Thursdays when the weather does not cooperate

Vienna Thunder Black captures McLean Premier Soccer Tournament

Vienna Thunder Black (U13 girls) captured the National Division of the McLean Premier Tournament over the Labor Day weekend. In the preliminary rounds, Thunder Black defeated McLean Spirit Gold and East Greenwhich, NJ each by a score of 4-0. Thunder Black defeated Bethesda Academy 4-0 in the semifinals and knocked off host McLean ECNL Spirit Green 2-1 in the championship game. Thunder Black scored 14 goals throughout the tournament while allowing only 1 goal.

VYS Thunder Black Finalist in Rael Vodicka Memorial WAGS Tournament

October 8-11, 2010, Manassas, VA--VYS U12G Thunder Black made it to the finals of the 2010 Rael Vodicka Memorial WAGS Tournament this past weekend at Bull Run Park. The girls had a fantastic weekend of highly competitive soccer. Teams traveled to Virginia from all over the East Coast to play in this prestigious tournament.

VYS Thunder Black played in the Girls U12 8v8 B Flight where they defeated PWSI Courage White 2-1 in their first game on Saturday and Thunder Siafu 3-1 in their second match-up. On Sunday they handled FSC Revolution 98 6-1 and Suffolk FC Explosion in their semi-final match 2-0.

On Monday October 11th the girls played in the finals against SYC Tigers. It was a highly competitive game and VYS Thunder Black had the majority of shots on goal but came up just short to the SYC Tigers by a score of 0-2. What a great weekend and congratulations to VYS Thunder Black!

VYS Thunder Black is coached by Nadir Moumen with assistant coach Rado Pletka and consists of team members; Reilly, Anna, Delaney, Hannah, Paige, Jeanne, Kristen, Brittney, Raina, Helen, Devon, and Maddie.

VYS Thunder Black Make Finals at Dulles National Tourney

August 30, 2010, Fairfax, VA

VYS Thunder Black U12 Girls played a great tournament this past weekend. They had four tightly contested games whereas they defeated Bethesda Academy 98 4 - 1, SYA Storm 1 - 0, PSC Cobras 4 - 1 but came up just short in the finals against Bethesda Academy 98 in overtime by only two goals after scoring three themselves.

Both VYS Thunder Black and Bethesda Academy ended up with 3 Wins and 1 Loss. VYS Thunder Black, coached by Nadir Moumen of Total Futbol and Rado Pletka, had 12 Goals for and only 7 Goals against for the entire weekend. What a great tournament and all of the girls played hard in their first official competitive tournament together as a team.
