Welcome to the VYS 99G Patriots Web Site

We wear red. We wear white.
We shoot, we score, we fight, fight, fight.
Gooooooo Patriots!

The VYS Patriots is a U11 girls soccer program.  The Patriots consists of four teams, Patriots Black, Patriots Red, Patriots Silver and Patriots White, that play in two leagues; Washington Area Girls Soccer (WAGS) and Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL).  The Patriots organization works as a single, academy program rather than four separate teams.  The girls practice and train together under a single trainer, with all coaches participating in the practices.  The Patriots are taking a long-term approach to develop the girls’ skills for the future so that when they reach the more competitive ages the girls will have mastered the fundamentals.

The four VYS Patriots soccer teams had tremendous success in preseason tournaments the weekends of March 19/20 and 26/27.  The four teams had a combined record of 12-1-3 and outscored their opponents 52-20, including five shutouts, and went home with one finalist and three championship trophies, including the Jefferson Cup Platinum Division champion trophy.  This highlights the tremendous success of the Patriots’ program.

Patriots Black Take Jefferson Cup Crown

Patriots Black travelled to Richmond for the Jefferson Cup Soccer Tournament and came away as champions of the Platinum Division.  Black opened against a tough Tennessee Futbol Club White 4-0.  The second game saw a scoreless battle against PSC Thunder.  Patriots Black began the second day defeating Berks Rage 99 Athletica from Pennsylvania, sending them to the final against Yardley-Makefield Pride.  In the final, the Patriots came from behind to defeat YMS Pride 2-1 and capture the title.  Congratulations to Patriots Black for winning at the prestigious Jefferson Cup.

Patriots Black - Virginian Tournament Finalist

VYS Patriots Black worked their way through the 2010 Virginian Gold Division group play winning all three games, defeating Alexandria United White, NVSC Jr. Majestics Blue, and SYA Synergy Red.  Their third game, against Synergy Red, Patriots Black had to come from behind, scoring two goals in the last 8 minutes.  In the semi-final Patriots Black faced a tough Arlington Chaos Red.  Chaos Red scored first and held a 3-1 halftime advantage.  However, the Black fought back in the second half scoring three goals and held on for a 4-3 victory.

In the Monday morning final they faced Springfield Storm White.  Storm White struck hard in the first half, scoring 3 goals and keeping Patriots Black off the scoreboard.  The second half was a hard fought scoreless half.  Although Patriots Black girls fought hard, Storm White proved stronger that day.  Pariots Black walked away the Virginian Gold Division Finalist trophy for the second year in a row.  Congratulations Patriots Black!
