Hank Leung is a US Soccer "A" License coach; a 3-time National Coach of the Year; a former USWNT Coach and an NCAA Division I Championship winning coach.  Noted for his player development expertise, Leung has developed innumerable scholarship athletes, All-Americans and national team players.

Hank is knowledgeable, experienced and has been successful at all levels of soccer - professional, amateur, collegiate and youth, winning state, regional and national championships along the way.  He is a member of the Soccer Hall of Fame (Virginia - Washington, D.C.) and is a three-time National Coach of the Year.  He is currently a Region II ODP Girls Staff Coach and has previously been the Region I Girls ODP Head Coach and a Region I Boys ODP Staff Coach.

Coach Leung is a former U.S. National Team Coach, a former U.S. National Staff Coach, a former Assistant Coach with the Philadelphia Fury of the NASL (the precursor to the MLS), as well as a former Director of Coaching for the Virginia Youth Soccer Association, the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association and the former Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association.

As a collegiate women’s head coach at George Mason University, Leung won an NCAA Division I National Championship.

In March 2011, Hank attended the UEFA Pro Course in Estonia.  In the Fall of 2011, he took on the role of Technical Advisor for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Women’s Soccer Team.  They won their league tournament championship and earned an NCAA Tournament bid - only their second in the program’s history. 

Coach Hank joined the VYS Patriots program in June of 2012 as the head trainer for the program.  in addition to running all Patriots training and overseeing player development, he coaches Patriots Black and Red, and assists with coaching Patriots White and Silver.

Coach Frank Fonte’ has been coaching youth soccer in Northern Virgnia since 1993.  He has coached in Springfield Youth Club, Southwest Youth Association, and Braddock Road Youth Club, coaching both boys and girls travel teams.  In addition to club soccer, Coach Frank has coached girls high school soccer since 1996 at South Lakes High School , Annandale High School, , W.T. Wooson High School, and Bishop Ireton High School, where he was the girls varsity coach for the  2000 to 2001 seasons.  During that time, Coach Fonte’ was voted the WCAC coach of the year in 2000 and led the cardinals to the WCAC tournament final in 2001. 

He is presently in his fourth season as head JV Girls coach at Paul VI High school in Fairfax , Va.  He is also the head soccer trainer for the City of Leesburg Parks & Recreation Dept working out of Ida Lee Recreation Center in Leesburg.  He has a USSF B licence and a national youth license as well as NSCAA  national and advanced national diplomas.

Coach Frank joined the VYS Patriots program in August 2012, coaching both Patriots Red and Silver teams. 

Nicole Peters (VYS Patriots White Coach)

Coach Nicole Peters grew up playing soccer in the Northern Virginia area, with the Vista Hotshots, a 4 time State Cup Finalist, with Regional, and National appearances. Coach Nicole also played at Oakton High School, where she team captain, and a 2 time MVP with all district accolades.  She went on to attended George Mason University where I was a four year starter and team captain her junior and senior years.


Coach Nicole has been coaching soccer for 3 years, and a trainer for 5, working with Golden Boot, Drake Soccer LLC and Burke Athletic Club.  She continues to play in adult leagues throughout the year, continuing to keep her skills and talent fresh. 

Coach Nicole joined the VYS Patriots program in June 2012 and coaches the Patriots White team. 


Lyndse Hokanson (VYS Patriots Goalie Trainer)

US Soccer “D” License


Coach Lyndse Hokanson is an accomplished athlete and student, having attended South River High School (Crofton, MD) where she played soccer for four years.  She played with the Freestate Phoenix for seven years where she was 2008 State Cup Champion and Region I Semi-Finalist. She played for Maryland State and Region I ODP for three years.


Coach Lyndse is in her senior year at George Mason University where she has been the primary goalkeeper the past three seasons.  She helped lead the team in March 2013 on a trip to Spain where they played several matches.

Coach Lyndse joined the VYS Patriots program in March 2011, having coached Patriots Red, White and Silver teams.
