Gooooooo Patriots!
The VYS Patriots is a U12 girls soccer program. The Patriots consists of four teams, Patriots Black, Patriots Red, Patriots Silver and Patriots White, that play in two leagues; Washington Area Girls Soccer (WAGS) and Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL). The Patriots organization works as a single, academy program rather than four separate teams. The girls practice and train together under a single trainer, with all coaches participating in the practices. The Patriots are taking a long-term approach to develop the girls’ skills for the future so that when they reach the more competitive ages the girls will have mastered the fundamentals.
The four VYS Patriots soccer teams had tremendous success in 2011. The accomplishments of the program include:

- 2011 Liberty Cup Champions (White Division)
- 2011 PWSI Icebreaker Tournament Champions (Black Division)
- 2011 McLean Invitational Tournament Finalists (Regional Division)
- 2011 Virginian Tournament Champions (Bronze Division)
- 2011 Bull Run Tournament Champions
- 2011 WAGS Tournament A Flight Finalist
- 2011 Battlefield Classic Finalist (Blue Division)
- 2011 Fall WAGS Division D Champions
- 2011 Fall ODSL Division G1 Finalists
- 2 girls selected to Virginia ODP Team
Overall, in league play, the teams combined for a 39-19-10 record. This highlights the tremendous success of the Patriots’ program.
