All players including current travel, house or outside players must attend every Tryout for their respective age group. Please check the dates, location and times of your Tryout dates. All players will be asked to attend Tryout 1, 2 and 3. After Tryout 3, players will be contacted within two business days with details of rosters

Start Time – Check-in will begin 45 minutes prior to the start of the Tryout. This is important for coaching staff to have accurate registers of all players at the Tryout.

Format – All players will take part in a warm up prior to playing a variety of scrimmages. Players may move teams and may play in a variety of positions. At the end of the Tryout, all players will be responsible for cooling down before departing. Please note – At some older age groups where a full Tryout is not required, players will attend team practice sessions. This only applies to specific age groups indicated on the Tryout schedule

Equipment – All players must wear a white t-shirt, arrive with cleats, shin guards, water bottle and soccer ball with their name on it.

Player Observation Form – All players will be observed by a group of coaches using a Player Observation Form. Players will be monitored technically, tactically and physically. Players will also be evaluated on their attitude and work ethic.  Important Note. Whilst we will strive to conduct a fair and transparent process the Player Observation Form is not an exact science but a guide to support coaches with their observations.

Player Feedback – Due to the high volume of players that Tryout, detailed specific feedback is not possible but Coaches will strive to identify strengths and areas to improve upon for all players. Small generic feedback will be provided offering players advice on what skills and areas of the game to improve upon.

Player Selection
Travel Teams are selected on a competitive basis. Positions on a team are earned based on technical, tactical, physical and social ability. All players must also possess a great attitude and work ethic.  A holistic approach to long term development in soccer will be adopted so a player who played on a team last year is not guaranteed a place for the 2015/16 season.

Tryout Fee
There is no cost to tryout and tryouts are open to all players.  Players can sign up to tryout for multiple age groups as long the age group is older.

Weather Policy
We will follow the VYS Weather Policy unless otherwise stated.
