The rising ODSL U13B VYS Excel Black is holding open tryouts on two dates.  The Team expects to add 6 players.

Monday June 2 at Vienna Adventist Academy, from 4:30 - 6:00.  Directions to the field are below.

Tuesday June 3 at Clarks Crossing, field 2 from 6:00 to 8:00. Directions to the field are below. 

I am a teaching coach.  I emphasize skill and player development. Playing time is determined by multiple factors including practice participation, attitude and skill.  At this age group, all players should play approximately half of the game (some will play more.)  Players can’t learn sitting on the bench.

This is a competitive league and the players are competitive.  Tryout candidates should really enjoy soccer, want to learn and be competitive.

The league will increase to 11v11 on a full sized field in the Fall.  I anticipate having 6 roster openings for the Fall season.

Directions to Vienna Adventist Academy:

From Patrick Henry Library, south on Maple Avenue (rte. 123). Turn Left onto Courthouse Road at traffic light. (Lawyers Road will be on the right). The school is approx. 1/2 mile on your left.  The soccer field is behind the school.

Directions to Clarks Crossing:

From Patrick Henry Library, north on Maple Avenue (rte. 123).  Turn Left on Beulah Road.  Turn Left on Clarks Crossing Road which dead ends at the field.

Alternate route:  From Patrick Henry Library, south on Maple Avenue (rte 123).  Turn right on Lawyers Road.  Turn right on Carrhill Road which dead ends at a foot trail.  Follow the foot trail downhill and across the creek to the field.  Parking is prohibited at the end of Carrhill Road.
