Virginia Development Academy
VYS is now part of an exclusive group of clubs able to offer the complete continuum of soccer competition that spans House (Recreation) Soccer, All-Stars and the Development Center onto Travel, Super Y, and now the Virginia Development Academy.
Virginia Development Academy (“VDA”) is the only member of the U.S. Soccer Federation Boys’ and Girls’ Development Academy in the state of Virginia. Formed in 2015, it is a collaboration of Prince William Soccer, Inc., Virginia Soccer Association, Chantilly Youth Soccer and Vienna Youth Soccer working with one another to grow the game and prepare players for opportunities at all levels. VDA represents nearly 13,000 male and female players and coaches at the recreational and select level.
In the 2017-18 travel season, VDA will be the only club in Virginia fielding teams in both the Boys’ and Girls’ U.S. Soccer Development Academy. All four clubs are members of the Virginia NPL providing a platform for identification and development and the ability to connect the pathway to the Academy for players and coaches. VDA is committed to developing and promoting from within and will draw a high percentage of its players and coaches from the member clubs.
Even more importantly, the program establishes a strong development foundation starting at the younger age groups and provides the education and resources critical to propelling all of our players to the next level.
